Note:
This is a little giftware to the flightsimmers who're going to fly over China in New Year evenings.
As part of the New Year celebrations in the world, newyearevening.bgl sets new year fireworks at 18 locations in China, including some big or small downtown areas, islands, riversides, etc.
newyearevening.xml is an entry-level example of making scenery/effects for fs2004, based on its default fx files and the effect controllers that come with fs2004 itself. If you want more firework effects, you can also replace the default firework effects (the 15 firework fx files, or the firework controller) with other fx files you got from somewhere else.
These files are free for uncommercial usage. Feel free to modify the fireworks settings. The original copyright information should be included if you want to pack these files into your work.
Installation - put the newyearevening.bgl file into your fs9/addon scenery/scenery folder, and then restart FS2004. Set the objects density to "sparse" or higher. Un-installation - remove that file from the scenery folder.
Party time:
20:00 - 21:30, local time, Jan 1st, every year.
If you prefer taking a break for the party instead of just flying by, you'll probably need to find a parking lot for your attendance. Sound effects are not perceptible in "slew" mode.
Change the coordinates, or the schedule...
You can open the xml file with a notepad.exe or other xml editors. To add or change the lat. and lon., just replace the "xxx" with the coordinates selected by you:
More detailed instructions, such as how to modify the events date/time, how to compile a xml file into bgl format, are available at the fs2004 official website:
